This one hit a little close to home. Dance teaches you how to chase perfection… and also how quickly perfection becomes something that slips just out of reach.
At a certain point, it stops being something you control and starts being something that wears you back.
Personally, I think it's fab that you are aware of your essay landing in that way. The perfectionism theme came through, and I could relate from my experiences with my perfectionism wearing me. Thank you for expressing your experience in such a captivating way 💚
Damn. This one is dialed in. From the satisfying callbacks to earlier pieces to the dozen or more great lines, watching the way you grow this world is impressive. I’m already looking forward to the next installment!
The callbacks are very intentional. As you’ve talked about, I’m treating the whole thing less like separate stories and more like a system that’s slowly revealing itself from different angles. So when something echoes, it’s usually because it’s the same thing, just seen from a different stage of awareness.
“Something Wore Me Correctly” was a big step in tha: less resistance, more… alignment with the distortion.
Waymon, this was riveting! Bravo 👏🏻
Appreciate that, Aidan… thank you.

Aidan, I’m really glad it landed that way.
Perfectionism is such a tricky one… it looks like strength from the outside, but it can quietly take more than it gives if you let it run unchecked.
I know you’ve felt that too.
Appreciate you saying it 💚

Aaron, this is such a sharp read- thank you!

Really glad that came through.
You’re sticking the landings. Sort of makes me wonder if it’s actually you writing these, or if it’s something wearing you writing them ;)
Honestly… I’m not entirely convinced something is wearing me a bit too comfortably as well.
Some of the lines feel like they were already there and I just stepped into them.
Like I’m not building the world so much as… finding where it’s already been waiting.
